There are billions of blogs online and not all blogs make money. There are only a handful of them that make a decent amount of money on a regular basis. There are many reasons why blogs fail to make money online.

Sometimes the blog is targeted on a very limited niche that has no search volume, no traffic, valueless content; at times a lot of bloggers do not pay much attention to monetizing their blogs.

How do top bloggers like Problogger, John Chow, Shoemoney make around 5 figures every month and lead a very comfortable and luxurious life? Let me try to analyze the reasons for this blogging success.

There are so many ways to make money online these days through a blog; thanks to the rapid growth of technology. The most popular method used to be adsense. I am sure all of you are familiar with Google Adsense. Now, I know it is very difficult to make money from it since you need massive traffic to your site to earn a good sum. I didn’t have much success with it since by the time I got into this blogosphere; a lot of alternatives have been introduced.

To learn making money with Wordpress and Google Adsense program is an art and cannot be taught in the matter of few lines even though the basics are simple and straight. You need dedication to attain success using this combination of blog and Adsense.

I had an adsense account which was completely dead since I didn’t use it for a long time. Recently, I canceled the previous account and opened another fresh one. I get so many ideas and learn so much from other people that I wanted to give this a try. I didn’t integrate adsense with my blog because I have lot of other ways of using it. I know that adsense is back dated and there are much better alternatives but all I am saying is that I gave it a try and I realized that there are many ways one can make money from adsense. I didn’t do much with it and within just 3 days I got $3 in my account. Well don’t laugh, it is not funny. It is simply hard work and you get to learn so much from your experience.

Some tips to make the best out of adsense:

Traffic: The more traffic you bring in, the better chances for getting good number of clicks on ads which will make you decent money.

High paying ads: Research on the high paying keywords and publish blog posts that are relevant. So, you get more money for a single click on those particular ads.

Relevant Ads: Google automatically displays relevant ads to your blog content. This enables people to click on the ads for more information.

Positioning and design: Though Google seriously consider misleading ads, you always have the right to choose the position and color format of your ads. Design the ads in such a way that they flow with the color theme of the blog.

It is very important that you follow all the rules defined by Google adsense program to be on the safe side. Never try to indulge in any fraud activity like clicking on your own ads.

Now let’s talk about the latest. There are lots of alternatives that have become popular in a short time.

Last but not the least, all I wanted to say is that it is not difficult to make money online but still only a handful of people make it to the top. You need to work on your stuff, learn from experience, ask questions and collaborate with other like-minded people. This will bring you success sooner or later.

If you try to make six figures from adsense like shoemoney, I doubt you can do it although, it’s not impossible.
