HTML 5.o is the next best thing in the html world. This is the core markup language of the www and I realized how important it is to know its features because it is not yet supported by alot of web browsers. It was started in June 2004 under the name Web Applications 1.0.

HTML5.0 is definitely the better version for HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0 .

At FOWA London 2009  Bruce Lawson gave an introduction to HTML 5.0 which is simply awesome.

• Dynamic images and graphs with canvas.
• Eliminating much forms validation with webforms 2.0.
• Auto saving your data.
• Geolocation.
• Building toolbars, headers and menus and much more.

Some Browsers Dont Support HTML 5

Html 5.0 is just beyond what you can expect. I tried watching one of the latest o3d beach demo on youtube and it said that my browser was not supported. I tried opera and internet explorer but it didnt work.

Finally, I went on with google chrome and wala, it worked . Firefox 3.1 now includes support for the HTML 5.0 video and audio tags.  I have found a great site where you can check out several html 5 samples. demos, features and also tutorials. It is at Html5Demos .

Html 5.0 is every webmaster/designer’s dream but it might take few more years to get fully developed. Browsers are starting to implement it. It will be years before you can rely on html 5 for web applications or designing but you can still experience it today. I am working on a tutorial that will explain html 5.0 from my point of view and also will include several useful tags that can be used. Feel free to share and spread the word
