First of all, I know that a lot of you think that it is impossible to make money on twitter. Please wipe that off your mind because you are wrong. I know that there are tons of popular celebrities and twitterers who make a sweet 5 figure from a single tweet. Now it’s ok if you are not popular, I suppose at least 70-80% people on twitter are regular users and not celebs. Think about this, even if you charge only $5 per tweet, it is a really good start. You also dont have to do much, if you have to write, its only 140 characters. Beside, if you are advertising with the platforms such as adly or sponsored tweets then all you need to do is accept the proposal and they will take care of the rest.

Now here is the deal. If you are active on twitter and engage in a lot of good conversation then you will have a great chance of getting sponsored. Remember, it’s always not about the followers count that matter. However, the ratio of the following count to the followers do matter. You dont want to follow 1000 people while having only 20 followers. You definitely need to balance that out.

I do not do much of sponsored tweets since I am choosy. I will not support an ad which is not related to my niche. If the ad provides value to my followers than I think it is a good start to make some cash on twitter.

Sponsored tweets is the hottest twitter money making platform. Couple of weeks ago, a new twitter advertising platform launched called ad.ly. It is quite new but seems very promising. I havent done much with sponsored tweets yet so kept this aside for a while.

Ad.ly, a tech company that matches top tier brands with top tier Twitter publishers. ad.ly has some pretty large celebrities on board such as Dr Drew, Chamillionaire, Tony Hawk, Pee Wee Herman. You can still pull it off if you have around 80k followers . I know its big but not impossible; Shoemoney was offered a campaign from NBC about one of their upcoming shows and got around $300 for a tweet, now that is not a bad deal. Even if you have a small amount of followers but if they are your targetted followers, this is definitely your thing. 

Ad.ly is not just a typical twitter advertising platform. They have options for multiple tweets and also scheduled tweets. This is a great advantage since the advertiser gets the best possible performance.

What makes them stand out from the rest is that they welcome feedbacks and are willing to adapt to new things that are in demand. Ad.ly is big and I believe they will grow bigger. I am planning to give them a shot as soon as i deal with sponsored tweets. Overall, both are really sweet twitter ad platforms and awesome twitter money makers!
