WordPress 2.9.2

WordPress 2.9.2 is here and I suggest that all of you upgrade it ASAP. There is not much difference between the version 2.9.1 and 2.9.2; they are pretty much the same but a bug which was detected in the 2.9.1 has been fixed.

The security bug in the version 2.9.1 allows the logged in users to peek at the trashed posts belonging to the other authors.

Now if you are the only user of your blog then you can wait till the version 2.9.3 comes out. This upgrade is necessary for blogs with multiple authors. If you have untrusted users registered on your blog or have several sensitive/personal posts in the trash then you should upgrade to 2.9.2 right away.

Download 2.9.2 or Upgrade it from your Tools->Upgrade menu.

Does this apply to users that don't have privileges to edit posts?

If you have a blog running on multiple authors then you should upgrade. An author might not be able to edit your post but he can surely edit his. However, if you delete a post, it will remain in the trash and can be viewed by others. In this case, you should upgrade. Hope i have clarified
